First field test, reported. The load did not fit, and the weather did not test us.
The first field test ran from Den Haag to Lembeke on 08-09 August 2026.
The departure
We tested a simple question: can a road rider decide on Friday evening, carry what is needed in jersey pockets and one slim half-frame bag, and leave without turning the bike into a luggage platform?
What we found
Everything did not fit. Jersey pockets and the frame bag could not hold the full essentials list, and rain gear was the first thing cut to make the carry work. That was a bet, not a decision we are proud of.
The weather held: two days without rain. The bet paid off this time. It does not tell us the carry works, only that we were not tested on the one thing we were least prepared for.
What is next
The next field test keeps rain gear on the list and treats it as non-negotiable, not the first cut when the load runs over.
